Bright tights

How to wear coloured tights... Gossip Girl style!

Wear brightly coloured tights with block neutral dresses. Two toned dresses and bright stockings are a no no! This will divide the body up and probably shorten it. If you are going to wear a two toned dress, stick to black tights. Sticking to greys and blacks with your coloured tights will make your legs the feature, showing off the colour. If you want to go for a more toned down look, pair your tights with a grey or black dress and wear a complimenting coloured jacket. This will make the stockings the compliment to a hero jacket. When choosing a pair of tights, dont go for really opaque as it will make your legs look quite odd, esspecially from far away. You dont want people thinking you have wierdo tinted legs!

I absolutely love these examples. They definitely did it right! i esspecially love the image directly above on the far right. pairing the nude heels with the tights makes a calculated risk look and the skirt adds a vintage feel to a contemporary look. I hope you guys catch on!

Ankle boots

 

These gorgeous ankle boots from spend-less shoes are only $49.95..... I want some! They come in both beige and black. I could actually do with a pair of both :P

I love these boots as well... they are almost like pixie boots, but being wedge are a bit more sophisticated. great for casual and corporate!

One of the newest and most well recieved trends; the grunge boot. If you're into vintage or indie styles, these are the way to go.

A bit different to the basic grunge boot, these are a bit more feminine due to their rounded features. If you're like me and can't pull off the grunge goddess, try these out!

Another alternative to the grunge boot is the pixie boot. Esspecially in tan, these give a more feminine vintage approach look.

Ankle boots are flooding the shoe industry. Walk into any shoe shop and you'll see more ankle boots than anything else at the moment! And best of all, they suit everyone :) Just pair them with some cute socks or jeans and you're good to go!

Ditch the sleeves

The little red riding hood way to stay warm this winter works with everything! It's my new winter love...other than hot chocolate haha. These capes can be seen everywhere, but only on the daring! So many are still going for coats to keep off the chill. But why go for a coat if you can just sling a cape over your shoulders? Ditch the sleeves this winter!

I love this cape and it's military look. The fur around the neck makes it even cosier and warm.

 I may have slightly indulged in this Cooper St cape from the march collection... <3

Baseball baby!

A new style I've recently got into is Varisity Jackets. Not only for the American, this style is being recieved all over the world and can be worn with almost anything! I love the way it has been worn in the picture above because its casual, quirky and cute (tumblr). Baseball jackets also look great paired with a girly dress and flats or just with skinny jeans and plimsolls.
